ROME FLOODS 20 Oct 2011

We were in Rome last week. The weather was initially much colder than usual and remained very cold the whole time at night. There was always sun but it never warmed up the way it normally does.

GLOBAL WARMING? Look what the Romans, including my daughter, Kat, had to contend with today. This is very unsual on such a large scale and SO DEEP. The first photo, if you click the link to the news site, is right near Kat and we were there at the shops and restaurants only last week. She, with many others, had all their travel disturbed when this suddenly happened today. She finally got home at 10 30 tonight having left home in the early hours for teaching. She was thigh high in water at one stage. All metros closed and buses stuck.

Not sure why the 'table padding' etc came between text and link to photos. Sorry if I caused this. The link is right at bottom of blog.
