Storm Sounds

There's a lion roaring
at my windowsill.
A thousand of them fighting
up at the roof.
A million snakes slither
on infinite sky-grass.
And somewhere an army of bears
are marching in full armor.
Clatter-clap. Clatter-clap!

To me, the cyclone is like
a radio into yester-years;
fading in and out
singing a song more ancient
than the mountain-folds.

And creating new notes
new symphonies
of disquiet, fear, and rage
upon the works of man.

From the seas boil
a mythical menangerie
year after year.
