Factory Band

Factory Band was originally formed in 1971 by teenagers wanting to be rock stars and Dreadfully Important Social Commentators. When that didn't work, the band broke up early 1974. One member abandoned the financially stable life of a musician to become a surgeon, one fled to London, one disappeared completely and one ended up owning a recording studio in Melbourne. Since then, Factory Band has made momentary reappearances to record new music.

These days Factory Band is Stephen Renfree with session musicians. An album, "Complicit," was released in 2015 and is available on iTunes. “Complicit” was the first new Factory Band music to be recorded for fifteen years. Base tracks were laid down in lounge rooms all over the country using a tribe of harassed, but very talented, musos. Overdubbing was done at studios in Melbourne and Los Angeles.

A new album, "The Dogma Fandango" was completed in January 2017 and has been receiving enthusiastic reviews, with one reviewer describing as a ‘masterpiece’. All FB music is available on iTunes, Spotify, Soundcloud & all usual sources.
